Even today the lifestyle of the people in rural areas of Cambodia still gives hints of the culture of the Cambodian people in the Angkorian Era. This tour package not only allows guests to explore the main temple attractions in Siem Reap, but also lets them experience the rural lifestyle of Cambodian people. In addition, they will have the opportunity to do charity work for the community by building water wells, schools, libraries, and to teach English to the children.

Program Overview: By choosing this package, guests will have the experience of going to the local market with our assistance to select fresh fruit, vegetables and fish to prepare tasty Khmer food. After relaxing, guests may join local people in rice planting or harvesting, and see the beauty of the countryside. The charity work includes teaching English, providing school supplies for poor children, and building water wells in poor villages. The tour is coordinated by the staff of a local non-governmental organization, Cambodia Development Organization for Children (CAMDOC), which was founded by Cambodia Child Aid, Germany, and the director of TCT. This organization supports activities to improve the education and living conditions of poor children in 14 villages.
Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival – Visit Village & Rice Field (L/D) Upon their arrival in Siem Reap, guests will be greeted by our staff / tour guide and transferred to their choice of hotel, or home-stay. The tour starts with a visit to a local village and rice field located about 50 to 70km from Siem Reap. Lunch will be at the hotel, in a restaurant, or prepared by our cooks at a village home. In the afternoon after lunch, we continue visiting other villages and farmland, and then start the charity work that the guests would like to participate in. Day 2: Charity Work (B/L/D) After breakfast, we visit the CAMDOC Training Center. The center offers free education and vocational training; including computer skills, sewing lesson, and English language teaching,. Our guests can interact with the children and trainees at the center, and can teach English or computer lessons. In addition, guests can work with other programs if they like. These include sponsoring children (starting from $30/month/child), giving school supplies, student uniforms, bicycles, and tooth brushes and tooth paste along with instruction in oral hygiene. Guests can also suggest other programs and activities they are interested in. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner at hotel/restaurant or in home-stay. Accommodation in hotel or home-stay.
Day 3 to Day 6: Charity Work (B/L/D) Guests continue their chosen volunteer activity alongside the skilled staff from the organization. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner at hotel/restaurant or in home-stay. Accommodation in hotel or home-stay. Day 7: Conclude Charity Work (B/L/D) Today guests finish their charity work, and have time to relax and enjoy time with the villagers and children. Day 8: Classic Tours (Ankgor Thom – Angkor Wat) - (B/L/D) AM: Upon arrival in Siem Reap, Cambodia; guests are met by our tour guide and transferred to their hotel. The tour starts with a visit to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, and Bayon Temple - Built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries by King Jayavarman VII, it is one of the most popular sites in the Angkor complex. The architectural design of Bayon Temple exemplifies the grandeur and majesty of Angkor. The tour continues to Baphoun Temple, Terrace of Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch in restaurant. PM: In the afternoon we explore Angkor Wat - One of the great wonders of the world, it was built in the early 12th century during the reign of King Suryavarman II (AD 1113-1150). In the evening, guests enjoy watching the sunset from the temple mountain of Bakheng. Overnight stay in Siem Reap hotel.
Day 9: Boat trip on Tonle Sap lake and City tour (B/L/D) AM: Guests embark on a scenic boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake - the largest permanent freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, and the main source of fishing and agriculture for people living on the surrounding plain. We also see a unique Floating Village. Lunch in Restaurant. PM: We visit a Silk Farm, the Artisan D’Angkor Workshops and handicraft boutique, go shopping, and visit the Old Market. Overnight stay in Siem Reap hotel.
Day 10: Siem Reap – Departure (B) After breakfast, guests have free time until their departure transfer.
